SPICES CULTIVATION AND EXPORT

The company through it’s network of farmers in western & mid-western region of the country, has diversified its activities by engaging in the export of spices to the European market.

As part of government policy of  adding value to local products meant for export, the company is trying to  set up a processing plant  in Kyenjojo District for Prunus Africana and some of the spices for export. Among the list of Spices being cultivated by the company and through it’s out growers include but not limited to;

Processed Vanilla,Cocoa,Curcurma,Cardamum,Hibiscus,Blackpepper and Coriander

As part of the company’s strategy and vison,we look forward to  sensitizing farmers about the sustainable harvest of Prunus Africana ,& increase on the export  of organic spices to the European, Asian and American markets

Besides the free distribution of seedlings, the company has also through the Ministry of water and Environment funded three (03)Prunus Africana inventories in 2008,2010 & 2015 respectively leading to an increment in Uganda’s annual quota from from 76,000kgs to 252,567kgs to date

As a means of building confidence in the farmers and increasing the standard of living of the farmers involved, the company does sourcing of market for their products. This enables farmers to get an assurance about the availability of market for their crops and bring aboard new farmers in to the company.
