In it’s endeavors to further improve the forest cover ,the company entered a memorandum of association with the National forest authority to plant over 300 hectares of the once encroached Matiri forest reserve in Kyenjojo District with Prunus Africana.
This yet again shows the company’s commitment in preserving this endangered specie. The company mainly works in the private farm lands owned by farmers as harvest of bark of Prunus Africana in protected areas is prohibited as a measure of protecting this rare specie
The company also works very closely with one of the local non-governmental organization JESE(Joint effort to save the environment) funded by Care Uganda in fort portal in making sure that our environment is well conserved.
Through this support from Care,JESE has brought about the Districts of Kyenjojo,Kyegegwa and Mubende in an effort to jointly to fight forest & Environmental degradation in the region.
